How to Check if My Computer is Running 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System
When you want to install some software or drivers you should know if your computer running 32-bit or 64-bit operating system (Microsoft usually labels them as x86 or x64). This guide will help you to determine whether your computer is running a 32-bit or 64-bit version Windows 7:
Method 1
- Press and hold down “Win key” and then press “R”
Type dxdiag and then click “OK”
This will open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool

Now you can read the Windows version and determine whether your computer is running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows

Click Start Button/Blue Orb and then click “Control Panel”
Click “System and Security”
Click “System”
For a 64-bit Version: 64-bit Operating System appears for theSystem type
For a 32-bit version: 32-bit Operating System appears for theSystem type
